These pictures were included in the Biden DOJ's indictment of Hinds County D.A. Jody Owens and Jackson Mayor Chokwe Lumumba. The pictures of Owens and Lumumba were taken on an FBI yacht off the coast of Ft. Lauderdale on April 2, 2024.

On the Phone: Prosecutors allege the picture of Lumumba on the phone shows him making a phone call to get an RFQ submission deadline moved up to prevent competition on a hotel project FBI operatives were pushing.

Folding the Envelope: Prosecutors allege that inside the envelope Lumumba is folding was $50,000 in "campaign contribution" checks given to Lumumba as a bribe to get him to move the RFQ deadline up. According to prosecutors, the FBI promised Lumumba an additional $50,000.

The Bag Man: Prosecutors allege the picture of Owens removing stacks of cash from a bag came after he was presented a bag containing $50,000 in cash for his services in facilitating the bribes at the center of the investigation. In total, it is alleged Owens received at least $115,000 in cash payments.

The pictures of the "Constitution" and the inside of the "Constitution" with a cutout holding $20,000 in cash were taken during the FBI's May 22nd raid of Owens' Hinds County District Attorney's Office. Prosecutors say the money included $9,900 in marked bills previously supplied to Owens by the FBI.

A note on this pictures: They are almost certainly still images taken from video footage recorded by the FBI. We know from the indictment, as I documented yesterday, there is ample recording of things said by Owens, Lumumba and their other co-conspirators. But even with a fairly detailed 32 page indictment, you can be sure there is additional info prosecutors have, including, very likely, video or images from Owens' and Lumumba's trip to Tootsie's strip club in Miami, where they were supplied with an additional $5,000 in cash to use.
