This year won't be like others. We are slow and awful. They are fast and decent. They will not let off the throttle if they start kicking our ass, bc they were embarrassed last year. I fully expect to see them beat the brakes off of us. The Buzzards scored 20....Ole Miss will score 50.

52-17 and I pray we announce a new coach shortly after, to shorten the sadness

Some outrageous Thanksgiving food takes this AM on OEP.

Just listened to the pod from this AM and just found myself getting more and more disgusted by the minute. The only good part about that entire exchange is listening to @Neal McCready ’s disdain for @Chase Parham forcing him to first think about — let alone NAME — foods with calories was high comedy. The way he said “that green bean casserole thing” and twice naming rolls with such aggressive disdain was 🤌🏻🤌🏻

But outside of that, just some outrageously horrific takes and borderline slander. Ham as “fine?!” Unbelievable. Give me a honey baked or a Coca Cola ham 100% of major holidays. Stuff a slice of that bad boy in a roll and it’s on. A bite of ham and a bite of turkey together and the turkey will finally taste like something.

Collards as a top 10 guess over potato/hash brown casserole and creamed corn? I WILL NOT STAND FOR THHS SLANDER.

Pecan pie over chocolate pecan pie? I don’t know what world you people grew up in, but it couldn’t be mine.

Give me:

Ham
Turkey
Potato casserole
Creamed corn
Garlic green beans
Mac and cheese (NEVER. BREADCRUMBS.)
Sister Schubert dinner rolls
Chocolate pecan pie
Chocolate pie with homemade merengue
A stiff drink
The Egg Bowl

MSU common opponent comparison.

I know Transitive property doesn’t really work in college football, but I think that when the sample size tells you a consistent story, it is useful. By this time of year, playing in the same division, you can get a decent sample size. Here is a side by side of how State and us compare against common opponents:

LSU
State loss 41-14
Ole Miss win 55-49
Differential - OM +33

Alabama
State loss 40-17
Ole Miss loss 24-10
Differential - OM +9

Arkansas
State win 7-3
Ole Miss win 27-20
Differential - OM +4

Auburn
State loss 27-13
Ole Miss win 28-21
Differential - OM +21

Texas A&M
State loss 51-10
Ole Miss win 38-35
Differential - OM +44

I know it’s stating the obvious, but for those that still have lingering worries, like Chuck’s made up Oxford friends, just quit.

Usually you’ll find at least one game where transitive property isn’t in your favor even when you have the better team, but not this year.

FOOTBALL: Will Rogers in his return against USM...

I had MSU's game against USM up on my computer while I was at the Ole Miss game Saturday, so I was keeping up with it more than watching. I compared Will Rogers' numbers to his PFF grades (which are wildly debatable in general) and it didn't seem to fit. They gave Rogers an 84 passing grade for the day which is very, very good, almost elite, but he was 12-for-27 (30 dropbacks) for 144 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He was 0-2 on his only throws for more than 20 yards.

Then, I noticed MSU had six drops in the game. That still doesn't compute for the ridiculous 84, but it's a ton of drops for one game. State has 18 drops as a team for the season. By comparison, Ole Miss has 14 drops this year on basically the same number of attempts.

It is (was) a new coach and a sort of new system at times, but for the season Rogers is still doing the same thing as far as where he throws the football -- short, high percentage throws that rarely test things down the field. It's the same as always, in that Ole Miss needs to tackle well inside 10 yards and prevent yards after the catch. This game every season lately has tested the Ole Miss linebackers and defensive backs to tackle. If they do, MSU doesn't move the ball. Rogers, on the year, has only thrown 15 passes 20 or more yards out of 199 attempts. Forty passes have been between 10-19 yards and 114 have been inside 10 yards. By comparison, Dart has thrown more passes between 10-19 yards than he has 1-9 yards.

Rogers has scrambled seven times on 221 dropbacks.

My Kansas City Chiefs

im not sure anyone will care…. This is me ranting.

I’ve been a chiefs fan since I was able to understand what football was. I’ve seen the dog years. The years where we were awful. Pre-Andy Reid, Pre-Alex Smith, Pre-Patrick Mahomes. I have seen everything between 2-14 and the Super Bowl championships.

I have never witnessed a collection of wide receivers be as bad as this group.
I understand it was raining. But that’s now 2 out of our 3 losses we have gave away due to dropping the ball.

This off-season is going to have some deep soul searching, as Neal would say.

I am done. I’m prepared for the mocking. But I had to rant

Ouch!! Coast 7A HS Football….

Had a quick exit from the state football playoffs last Friday as all four schools lost their first round games..

The seedings and results;

#1 Ocean Springs lost to Meridian 35-23..

#2 Gulfport lost to Pearl 17-13.

#3 Biloxi lost at Oak Grove 55-14.

#4 Harrison Central lost at Brandon 41-13.

It’s amazing that over the last 4-5 years, most coast 7A teams have been “one and out” in the playoffs.

You’d figure the law of averages would be that one or two teams would make it to at least the second round or higher, but that hasn’t been the case for the last few years..

Certainly a remarkable streak of failure..
