Obvious thing is obvious, but putting this into context given this past weekend.
LSU avoiding the losses after that first one to USC has that game on everyone’s radar and gives us a chance to make a national statement and erase the taste of that UK loss completely.
Looking at the rankings (using AP), this is what we have this week:
1 Texas v 18 OU
2 Ohio State @ 3 Oregon
4 Penn State @ USC
5 UGA v State
7 Bama v South Carolina
8 Tennessee v Florida
9 Ole Miss @ 13 LSU
10 Clemson @ Wake
There are a couple of upset opportunities there (USC, OU), and obviously someone loses Ohio State-Oregon.
Give us a big Top 15 road win, and I could see us move up a couple spots.
Throw in next week’s off week for us, where these are the match ups:
1 Texas v 5 Georgia
3 Oregon @ Purdue
6 Miami @ Louisville
7 Alabama @ 8 Tennessee
10 Clemson v UVA
There are a couple more losses in there too. Win Saturday night, and we will either be back in the Top 5, or right outside of it when we play Oklahoma.
