If you’re coming to the LSU game from Houston or points west, here’s are a few recommendations: 1) Stay in Lafayette. As of today, Hilton properties are going for about $109 – $150 per night. 2) While you’re in Lafayette early on Saturday, check out Festivals Acadiens before getting in the car to come to Baton Rouge that afternoon. It’ll be a lot more fun than navigating the tailgate scene around Tiger Stadium, and the food and music will be great. 3) UL-Lafayette and Appalachian State are playing sometime that day. If it’s the early game you might want to check it out. 4) On Sunday morning, go to Sunday brunch at the Little Big Cup in Arnaudville. You’ll thank me later (but make a reservation ASAP.) 5) When you drive into Baton Rouge, park downtown (or at the Pastime Lounge under the bridge) and take a shuttle bus to the stadium.
