Walked in to work this morning around 4am. A student staggered out of our dish room (obviously drunk) and wandered to the dining room. Mind you, the building was locked up last night. He sat down at a table, pulled his jacket over his head and fell asleep. He never noticed me in the kitchen.
I was the first one in this morning. As my coworkers came in, I told them about the kid and to just leave him alone.
I walked out and woke him up. I told him not to worry that he wasn’t in trouble. He was obviously drunk and scared. I asked him how he got in here. He said “I don’t know”. I asked him where he slept? He said “on this table”.
I told him we would have breakfast ready in an hour, to grab himself some coffee and we would feed him. He pulled his jacket over his head and went back to sleep. Next thing I know three cops show up. They begin questioning him.
I walk over and tell them that he had caused no issues and that we didn’t want to press any charges. He had just wandered in drunk and that we were glad he didn’t have to sleep in the cold. They ****ed with him for a while, had him call some buddies, and he got a ride.
One of the young ladies who works for us decided to take it upon herself to call the cops. Everyone has had a big night out that they regret. No harm no foul. She’s a total hall monitor and kiss ass. Everyone in our building has spent the morning giving her shit for tattle tailing. If I’m honest, I hope it continues for a while.
Hope the poor kid is feeling better and learned his lesson.
