All the talent is spread around more and discipline is sacrificed at top programs for the sake of retention. The model service academies have will dominate mercenaries who don’t care what school they’re at. At least at the G5 level. At the P4 level Vandy and Stanford can do the same thing with better players that want a good education but not join the military.
I expect this will be a trend. Players who care more beat players who care only about the next check and early playing time. With a few exceptions at the very top like Texas/tOSU.
