Good to have everyone back and get to work. This is a big game for us and big matchup with OU coming in here. Playing great defense and changed offensive staff and QB and getting receivers healthy. Excited to be back in front of home crowd and get on track. Had a great week of practice.

It doesn’t matter that Finley is calling plays. He didn’t call plays here and different situation there. He was tight end coach here. Him having been here before wouldn’t help us at all with knowing what he’ll do and with a week to go there you can’t reinvent the system in six days. I don’t think it’s a big deal.

Time off was good with injuries – both guys out and guys not full speed like Pegues or Parrish. They played really hurt last game or two. The time off was good.

There’s no way to predict the new coordinator and he was the co-coordinator already. Even if they do, you can’t figure it out ahead of time and know what they were thinking. He didn’t call plays before. There’s no film to watch on what he will do.

Criticism is part of the profession and Charlie has been through it with him and his dad. It’s more a part of this profession than ever. Not even the season or the game but what did you do this quarter. Used to wait until the night of a game to see highlights. Now bad plays are immediate. Just is what it is.

Really tough initially with that game and getting over it. We took the lead and thought guys played well in a tough place to play to score points at night and guys did a good job and we let it get it away at the end. Had the ball to put the game away. They made 2 fourth down conversions… it took a while to get over it. Watching stuff this weekend it seems like everyone has problems. There are no perfect teams. A year ago that wasn’t the case. There’s a lot of issues with all teams around the country. The year before we won the close games and now with two were similar and fourth downs and we didn’t.

Both QBs have played a lot for OU this season. We’ll be ready for both.

Competitive disadvantage to tell you what we learned with self scouting. We are working on everything from moving things to starting spots and all that.

I haven’t had any conversations with the league and don’t have much of a comment about the injuries that are faked with other teams.

We have a lot to work on ourselves and we focused on ourselves a lot. We need to continue to play good defense and get fewer penalties. We need better rhythm on offense. We’ve been out of rhythm for a while now. It’s a focus on ourselves. Especially with OU as far as the questions they have considering no certainty at QB or play caller.

Both QBs move around and are big time talents. We have to make sure we take care of ourselves and play well.

The bye week was good mentally. We had a lot going on with the two losses and we had control and we’re halfway through the season and have only trailed for 2.5 minutes total. It’s a lot to deal with. Good to get a break.

We’ve had 2 returning OL starters out and they’ve done a little bit of stuff. We could be shuffling some things. We have to be consistent up there. That was an issue last week in pass protection.

Jayden Williams will return this regular season, yes.

I’ve seen fan bases try to throw bottles and get a call changed. Never seen it work. I would have really struggled with that happening. Would have been really tough to deal with.
