He wants to mimic Saban and be the CEO type. Hence the reason he defers the RB rotation to the position coaches and the reason he hasn’t shoved Weis aside and taken over play calling duty. It’s also the reason for the short rotations. Lane is selling an NFL type model to future portal players. He’s not trying to build depth.

First, this isn’t the NFL Lane and two Saban was the absolute best at hiring the right coordinators and staffs.

Lane, you haven’t built an elite staff and until you do, you better change your ways. You better nail the portal additions and if you’re relying your staff for those evaluations they have failed at RB, OL etc

Either get more involved in play calling, and be a college coach or upgrade your staff.
