Personally we're sick of the back and forth. We've trusted our sources throughout, and while nothing can be signed until Wednesday, we're certain he was in Oxford this weekend. If he's not in Oxford this weekend, Neal and I have been punked in one of the most elaborate schemes of all time. Basically, Manti Te'o should be jealous.
We have a contact close to another one of the visitors this weekend, and that contact has verified that he saw Chris Jones' parents in Oxford this morning. He said Jones' father was wearing an Ole Miss golf shirt. Bobby Billingsley tweeted that he was playing video games with Jones' father.
Meanwhile we were told this morning that Jones was at the Sigma Nu house on the Ole Miss campus last night. A short time ago, we were sent two photos of Jones and told those photos were taken last night at the Sigma Nu house. We have confirmed through people who were in the Sigma Nu house last night that Jones was there and the photos are authentic. We've debated whether or not to post the photos, but given ridiculousness of this story, and the fact that the photo is completely innocent and could get no one involved in any trouble, we're posting it.
Obviously Jones' presence in Oxford doesn't equate to him signing with the Rebels on Wednesday. However, if you're asking for predictions, both of us -- and Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Mike Farrell -- would definitely predict Jones signs with Ole Miss on Wednesday.
