Ole Miss' elite camp on June 7 should bring most of Mississippi's top players to Oxford, and that's a good thing for the Rebels, as recruiting Mississippi appears to be a top priority this campaign.
From all accounts, the Rebels are targeting a dozen or so players from Mississippi. Only one of those players _ Purvis WR Markell Pack _ is not in the picture right now. Pack committed to Florida State recently, and Ole Miss doesn't seem to have any traction there at this point.
The Rebels have commitments from several of the top players in Mississippi already, having secured pledges from C.J. Hampton, D.K. Buford, Sammie Epps, Tyler Putman, Dayall Harris and Ronald Walker. The Rebels appear to lead for Rivals100 OT Rod Taylor and his teammate at Jackson's Callaway High School, DL Breeland Speaks. Ole Miss covets Petal's Jesse Jackson and recently solidified its offer to Bassfield LB Alvin Moore. The Rebels also love Olive Branch's Alfred Dickens. Ole Miss and Mississippi State appear to be Dickens' leaders at this point.
Ole Miss will take a quarterback in this class if it falls in love with one. Otherwise, look for the Rebels to use that spot on the defensive line. The Rebels covet Arizonan Kyle Allen, No. 27 on the new Rivals100, and Bossier City, La., QB Brandon Harris. Harris will visit Oxford this summer (Auburn appears to lead).
The same holds true at running back. Ole Miss will take a running back (other than Buford, who projects as more of an athlete than just a true tailback) if it can land a star at that position. The Rebels will pursue 2-4 top running backs and celebrate if they land one. Otherwise, they'll use that spot on _ you guessed it _ a defensive lineman.
Ole Miss will take as many as five offensive linemen in this class, by the way. The trenches are a priority.
