We're hearing from multiple sources that Mark Hudspeth has faded on Ole Miss' list. A couple of sources have boldly said Hudspeth will not be the next coach at Ole Miss, leaving no room for error. We're unable to confirm or deny that this evening, but the sourcing is pretty good. Why? What happened? We have our guesses, but I'd rather not go there right now.

On the flip side, we're once again hearing more and more about Kirby Smart tonight. He hasn't interviewed yet, and it's certainly possible it's a rumor that is being widely circulated, but his name is flying around in several circles this evening as a strong candidate.

We still believe and are being told by several sources in the coaching/agent fraternity that Larry Fedora is the leader for the Ole Miss job, but Fedora appears to have multiple suitors. Hugh Freeze remains very much in the mix, and we won't be shocked if Ole Miss talks to Gus Malzahn at some point in the next few days, either.

Anyway, barring breaking news, that's it for us tonight. We'll update tomorrow when and if we have something new; it likely will be late in the day.

Chase is probably several hurricanes/beers into his evening, and it's past my bedtime. Have a lovely evening.
