DJ Miller of Granite High School in Madison, Ill., committed to play baseball at Ole Miss on Sunday evening. Miller is a 2015 prospect and currently plays summer baseball for the St. Louis Pirates which is coached in part by former All-American Brett Huber.
"Coach (Lafferty) is freaking jacked about the kid," Huber said. "A great kid is coming to Oxford. Kid's a stud."
When asked about what type of player he believed Miller would be, Mets' scout Rick Strickland responded, "He has a chance to be an All-American type player with a great frame (6'-2" 185 lbs.). He looks like Willie McGee, and his swing looks Hank Aaron's, seriously. He's not a pure power hitter yet; he's a deep gap hitter. He is a really good runner (6.6 in the 60-yard dash) and is less than a year removed from ACL surgery, so he will run better once he gets to campus. He projects as a Center or Left Fielder."
