BOX SCORE
First the news: Braxton Lee is OK after fouling a ball off his shin late in the game. It looked bad, but nothing is broken, and his availability tomorrow is strictly based on soreness. No significant damage.
OK, with that out of the way, Ole Miss just obliterated the baseball and took advantage of that ridiculous ballpark. The Rebels had 17 hits and 18 runs with four home runs and two doubles. Sikes Orvis hit his second home run of the weekend, Auston Bousfield had five hits including a three-run home run, Austin Anderson had three hits including a double, and Will Allen and JB Woodman also hit home runs.
The 2-3-4 spots in the order went 12-of-17 with six runs and 12 RBI. Bousfield's batting average is up to .378. He's having a heck of a season without as much fanfare as expected.
Christian Trent was outstanding and gave up two runs on six hits in six innings. He would have gone back out in the seventh, but the score made it unnecessary. Also with how long the Rebels' half innings were, it was better to go to the bullpen. Trent threw 52 strikes and 83 pitches. He gave up two home runs, both to AJ Reed, but that's OK. He limited the damage, and in that park solo home runs are fine.
Scott Weathersby got the save with three innings of work to save the Ole Miss bullpen. Going into Sunday the Rebels haven't used Josh Laxer, Wyatt Short or Aaron Greenwood.
Ole Miss went 11-of-22 with runners on, 8-of-13 with runners in scoring position and 12-of-29 against left-handed pitching. Kentucky was just 3-of-14 with runners in scoring position.
It'll fluctuate as the day moves on, but Ole Miss has the No. 5 RPI currently. Some RPI good news could occur. Auburn is No. 51 in RPI and Central Florida is No. 52. Also Texas A&M moved to No. 47 last night.
