Ole Miss Men’s Basketball to Face Louisville in SEC/ACC Challenge
OXFORD, Miss. – The matchups for the 2024 SEC/ACC Challenge were announced on Wednesday by ESPN, sending Ole Miss up to Kentucky to face Louisville on Tuesday, December 3.
Tipoff times and TV designations will be announced at a later date.
The Rebels are gearing up for the second year under head coach Chris Beard, who helped guide Ole Miss to a 20-win season in year one. The program recently unveiled their 2024-25 roster, which returns three starters from a year ago and introduces a plethora of talented transfers and freshmen.
Louisville recently hired a new head coach in Pat Kelsey last March, who has won nearly 70 percent of his games over 12 seasons at College of Charleston and Winthrop. The Cardinals look to bounce back from a 2023-24 season in which they won eight games.
This will be the fourth matchup all-time between Ole Miss and Louisville, with the Rebels leading the series 2-1. The teams most recently matched up in 2008, when Louisville defeated Ole Miss 77-68 in Oxford. The two have met once in Louisville, Kentucky, when the 16th-ranked Rebels took down the Cardinals 74-70 in 1997 behind 18 points from Keith Carter and a double-double by Ansu Sesay.
In the inaugural year of the event last winter, Ole Miss defeated eventual Final Four team NC State in a 20-point victory 72-52 in the SJB Pavilion. The two conferences split the event across 14 total games, seven wins each.
New season tickets for the 2024-25 Ole Miss basketball season are already on sale and can be purchased by clicking here. Current season ticket holders can renew their tickets beginning July 1.
