Last night, RebelGrove.com was honored at the annual Rivals.com Publishers Conference by Rivals.com/Yahoo for finishing the year No. 5 in percentage subscriber growth among sites with at least 1,000 subscribers. We're honored, certainly, but we have to thank our new subscribers and our long-time subscribers for their support of our product. Without you, obviously, there's no honor for us to receive. We appreciate your patronage and your making RebelGrove.com your community and source of Ole Miss sports news.
Secondly, we'd like to take this opportunity to announce something we've hinted at and referenced for months now: both Chase Parham and myself have entered into new five-year contracts with Rivals.com/Yahoo with mutual options that could make the deal a seven-year commitment. Obviously, we're both honored by Rivals.com/Yahoo's faith in us and flattered that our bosses believe in our site, our work and our commitment to journalism.
There are a lot of exciting things coming to you, the subscriber, in the coming months. The conference, which wraps up this morning in Atlanta, featured some really good news (from a technology perspective) for our subscribers. We'll detail some of that as it comes closer to coming to fruition, but there's a lot going on behind the scenes in California and Texas (where our bosses are located) to make the product you see every day on the Rivals.com network better and more user-friendly.
We were also thrilled to hear even more evidence of Yahoo's commitment to integrate Rivals.com more and more into its coverage and radio content on a daily basis. That commitment comes as a result of what is even a stronger move toward being a network of locally-focused news outlets.
So again, thanks to all of you for your support and your confidence in our product. We're confident when we tell you the coverage/product you receive is going to become even more of a bargain for our subscribers in the near future.
Lastly, many of you have asked about RebelGrove.com gear. While we currently have nothing for you to purchase, we've talked with our partners at Team Fan Shop and are confident that will change soon. We'll give you those details as they become available.
