Our Mississippi State affiliate isn't going to attempt to contact recruits until tonight, so we're about to go ahead and make some calls. We've given ample time.
To whet your appetite, sources say nothing incredibly negative occurred over the weekend, while several targets were in Starkville, and the Rebels remain optimistic for a strong close with the Mississippi prospects.
We're told Aaron Morris had a good time, but he remains committed to Ole Miss, and there's no concern with the Callaway offensive lineman -- especially the talented trio of Johnson, Brassell and Whitehead. As we've said, the Rebels are a heavy favorite for Brassell at this point.
Jermaine Whitehead didn't really firm up his commitment to MSU this weekend, and he still plans to visit Ole Miss on the 21st, as does C.J. Johnson. The Philadelphia linebacker had some questions answered by the state staff, according to sources, but Ole Miss remains very much in it and Johnson didn't recommit or name MSU a clear leader. That's very much good news for Ole Miss.
Jonathan Jenkins hasn't mentioned Ole Miss in weeks, including after his visit to Miami today. We're going to check with him, but it looks like we might can mark him off the board.
