Most of Ole Miss' freshman class will report on May 27. As of now, only WR Quincy Adeboyejo (late graduation from high school; will report in late June/early July) and LB Marcus Robinson (headed to a junior college) are definitely not reporting for the first summer term. There are a couple of guys with a transcript issue or two that could be problematic, but the overall feeling is the class will report as expected.
Ole Miss' veteran players are enjoying a couple of weeks off before reporting back to school around Memorial Day for first summer term. I'm told QB Bo Wallace's shoulder rehabilitation is going as scheduled and he's on pace to be 100 percent in plenty of time for fall camp, which is tentatively scheduled to begin Aug. 2.
Ole Miss will be holding its elite camp on Friday, June 7. As of now, the Rebels are expecting to entertain a multitude of targets from around the Southeast and elsewhere on that day. I'm told no commitments are anticipated between now and then, and no cavalcade of commitments is expected following that camp either. Instead, look for Ole Miss to go slow, hopeful that winning some games this fall will erase a few doubts and allow the Rebels to close on another top class.
Sources close to the Ole Miss program feel very good about the Rebels' chances to land Jackson (Callaway), Miss., OT Rod Taylor and DL Breeland Speaks. The Rebels have turned up the intensity on Petal, Miss., WR Jesse Jackson and like their chances, I'm told. There isn't as much optimism about Ole Miss' chances with Purvis, Miss., WR Markell Pack. Florida State, per sources, remains the team to beat for Pack.
