@Chase Parham i had the same exact thing happen. Was 34 years ago I was 18. I was the passenger and it was deer season. My buddy was I. The back of the truck and his uncle was driving. My buddy hits the van if the truck and hollers stop. The uncle stopped and my buddy said “there’s a turkey!”
The uncle said “can you hit it?” My buddy of course said hell yea. So he throws the gun over the cab of the truck and shoots. Turkey wobbles but doesn’t die or fall or run or anything. The uncke hollers hold on and takes off like a bat out of hell. I’m scared to death.
We get to the grandfather of that family house. To no avail. The game warden knew exactly who Ricky Ainsworth was and where to find us.
Like chase I got off. My buddy and uncle had to bail out pay about $2,000 in fines had their guns confiscated and lost hunting license for a few years. They got them for firing from a public road, firing from a vehicle and shooting a turkey out of season
Defintely was a scary moment for me
