On April 26, 2024, at approximately 5:07 PM, the Oxford Police Department
responded to the area of Price Hill Park for a reported shooting. Officers
arrived quickly and detained several persons of interest.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that a vehicle was in
the process of being repossessed when a male, Jamarion Demontrez Sharp
(22 of Oxford, MS), fired a gun towards the victim. No one was injured in the
incident.
Sharp was taken into custody and transported to the Lafayette County
Detention Center where he was booked for Aggravated Assault. He was given
a $100,000 bond by the Municipal Court Judge.
