HKellenbergerCL Rank the D1 head coaches in MS regardless of sport. -- @OleMiss_Logo

All coaches? All sports? Like Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss, but also Jackson State and the rest of the SWAC schools? That's a daunting task, one too multi-layered for this mailbag. But you asked, so I'll answer in part by ranking the big three (football, men's basketball and baseball) coaches at the three big schools. There's no right way to do this, other than judging them by past accomplishments but also belief in their ability to get their team to perform well next season (or, for baseball, the rest of this season).

1. Dan Mullen, MSU football -- Coached the team to a No. 1 ranking and the Orange Bowl last fall, and has built that program into a consistent winner.

2. Hugh Freeze, Ole Miss football -- Done admirable work in three seasons, and the program still has room to grow under Freeze.

3. Andy Kennedy, Ole Miss basketball -- Two NCAA Tournament appearances in three seasons at Ole Miss is remarkable, and he's won a game both times.

4. Ben Howland, MSU basketball -- Great run at UCLA and I think he'll win soon in Starkville. Just don't know if that's next season.

5. John Cohen, MSU baseball -- Both baseball programs are in down seasons, but Cohen went to a College World Series final. Gives him a slight edge over the next guy.

6. Mike Bianco, Ole Miss baseball

7. Scott Berry, Southern Miss baseball -- The Golden Eagles are always competitive, especially against in-state competition. Beat Ole Miss and Mississippi State already this season.

8. Todd Monken, Southern Miss football -- They made progress in year 2 under Monken, could do the same in year 3 (even with a brutal nonconference schedule).

9. Doc Sadler, Southern Miss basketball -- He was handed a mess of a situation thanks to Donnie Tyndall. Sadler is well-respected, but someone has to be last.

Thoughts?
Personally I don't know how you can rank mullen ahead of Freeze when head to head its 2-1 freeze with the lone loss a nail biter
Then how do you have a coach that hasn't coaches in 2 years and never in ms at 4?
No comments for Bianco? He is behind Cohen because of one miracle run for state?
That list is terrible imo
