Gabriel 83... He played 11 seasons with the LA Rams who drafted him as the #2 overall pick of the 1962 NFL Draft... Gabriel was also drafted #1 overall by the Raiders in the AFL Draft.. Gabriel played the final five years of his career for the Eagles..

Gabriel has a spot in what could be considered an NFL Trivia Hall of Fame..

In 1974, Gabriel was QBing the Eagles against the Saints at Tulane Stadium.. The Eagles got the benefit of a very controversial pass interference penalty against the Saints in the end zone, resulting the ball being placed at the Saints' 1.

Saints fans started booing and stomping their feet on the metal flooring of the stands at Tulane Stadium.... Leading to the description of "Foot Thunder"... The Eagles couldn't hear the signals being called and kept walking back to the huddle.. It went on for a good 8-10 minutes..

Per a Saints fan who was at the game:

......."It was actually in 1974, when the Saints were playing the Eagles in Tulane Stadium where Gabriel was the Eagles QB and lets just say a number of on-and-off the field issues sort of converged to where Saints fans actually started booing so loudly that Eagles offense couldn't hear the cadence and signals so they essentially wasted a key third-down that might have put the contest away. It went down in Saints history as The Longest Boo. During this same time period, Saints fans and local MSM outlets were upset at team ownership about a rumored trade of Archie Manning to the Atlanta Falcons.

Afterwards, Gabriel criticized the officiating crew for not doing more to get the Saints organization, team to try and calm down the raucous crowd.".....

The Eagles eventually settled for an 18-yard FG by former Saints' kicker Tom Dempsey..

Archie would lead the Saints on a late TD drive to give the Saints a 14-10 win that day...
