I'm sitting here watching the baseball movie, "Fear Strikes Out"... No, it's not about the 2023 OM baseball season...
It's a classic from 1957 about Boston Red Sox outfielder Jimmy Piersall, who had a nervous breakdown early in his career and spent a couple of months in a mental institution for treatment. Anthony Perkins played Piersall in the movie. Karl Malden was the domineering father..
I know filming locations can be a problem, but I have a hard time visualizing Fenway Park when the film clips of different places at spliced together...
This must have been before they built the outfield stands and Green Monster at Fenway..
In the next game, they got part of the scene right...
Then...they went backwards with the scene.. You can see the trees beyond the right field wall at Fenway..
It was an entertaining guy movie, but maybe I get too carried away about accuracy of scenes and continuity..
