Ole Miss should be like Mississippi State in one respect.

Mississippi State does not have professors like Anne Twitty. Twitty and her ilk work harder at redefining the character of Ole Miss, and stirring up strife than they do at teaching. Per her Ole Miss profile Twitty specializes in "slavery and freedom, gender and women's history". Twitty is a crusader. She was hired to teach, not to conduct crusades. Continuing from her profile, "she helped establish a slavery tour program that introduces incoming students and visitors to the history of slavery and enslaved people on campus."

Why is slavery allowed to be showcased as a being a part of Ole Miss in 2020?.

Tenure gives people like Twitty the privilege to express their views in professional publications and books. It does not give them the privilege to indoctrinate students, promote their views in the classrooms or at student gatherings, and certainly does not give them the privilege to organize protests that many people believe does great damage to the University of Mississippi. Twitty and her cohorts are cancers within the fabric of Ole Miss. They were bad hires from the git go. They should be ousted from Ole Miss. Tenure does not protect them for doing damage to Ole Miss.

These types of professors cannot wait to get their hands on another incoming class of gullible freshmen students. You can be sure that Twitty has already mapped out her strategy to influence the new students, especially those most susceptible to the bile she spouts, and to become radical change agents and disruptive just like she is. Anne Twitty and her cohorts are not friends of the University of Mississippi.
