I’m looking for a boot that is water/dust proof but also looks nice enough to wear in an office setting. I’m eyeing the Vivobarefoot Tracker II or Forest ESC boots, but I have serious analysis paralysis when researching gear and it’s hard to pull the trigger one something without recs from others.
For context, I work in forestry and I’m often (2-3x/month) on timberland properties doing inspections that involve walking around plantations and logging decks with thick dust, mud, debris/slash, water, etc. I’m not doing anything more physical than climbing over log piles or hiking up and down steep slopes, so I don’t need a super aggressive boot. I’m also likely to be with investors or executive non-forester types on property tours that coincide with office meetings, so I want something that looks decent enough to wear with khakis. Bonus points if they can double as turkey hunting or back country boots.
