2013 quarterback prospect Kohl Stewart of Houston (St. Pius), Texas is due in this afternoon in time to work out. Stewart is also an elite baseball prospect.
Keep an eye on Memphis (St. George's), Tenn., offensive tackle Brandon Hill. He's 6-6 and 373 pounds and his stock is rising despite having sat out his junior season after transferring from Manassas High School. He appears to be coveted by the Rebels.
Brian Kimbrow said he and Jovon Robinson talk quite a bit. However, he and Jaylen Walton "don't conversate that much." There doesn't appear to be much love lost there. Interestingly, Kimbrow had some nice things to say about Ole Miss. Still, Walton appears to be the most likely of the coveted Memphis running backs to pick Ole Miss. In fact, Walton smiled when I asked him today if he was close to a decision. He said Cincinnati's in it, but his body language screamed that the Rebels are the prohibitive favorite.
Walton's teammates, Sheldon Dawson and Brandon Lewis, are also high on Ole Miss. Dawson is being looked at as a defensive back this weekend. Lewis, meanwhile, looks like a sleeper. He could easily put 30-40 pounds on his frame and be quite an imposing rush defensive end.
Ole Miss quarterback commitment C.J. Beathard said Tennessee has been recruiting him hard recently, but Beathard said he was very solid with his commitment to the Rebels.
Another top 2013 prospect, Ruston, La., running back Kedaydrian Crowe, is in Oxford this weekend. The Rebels appear very interested in Ruston cornerback Kentrell Brice. Brice has nine offers, and Ole Miss is taking a close look.
