My son (17) filed and submitted his taxes in February prior to his shipping out for bootcamp later that same month. Today I received a notice from the IRS that he (or the tax software we used) did not record a signature for him.
While he is away I do not have access to his email or software. Is there a way I can get him an extension or some process I can do as his parent?
Btw - his check has already cleared so he owes them no money, I just don’t want him to get in trouble for something minor like a signature while he is serving.
