I say a pox on both houses.

Nexstar owns 159 TV stations nationwide. In Memphis, that includes WREC - Channel 3, the CBS affiliate.

Chanel 3 has been "dark" for the last few weeks. There is a disclaimer posted on the screen where ATT which owns Direct and Uverse blames Nexstar for wanting double the fees that were paid on the recently expired contract.

Nexstar is blaming ATT for not paying enough since their costs have gone up so much. Other national cable providers like Cox, Charter, and Comcast have separate contracts with Nexstar and those local stations are not affected.

In a few weeks, NFL and College Football will kickoff. I can't believe this dispute is going to carry over into the season. This seems to be somewhat like the UPS strike where you knew they would settle things because there was too much money involved and everybody would suffer.

Nexstar owns local CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox stations. Anyone else seeing this on your cable package?
