1) Starting OL first two series was L>R :
Curne, McGee, Warren, James, Pettus
Maybe it’s something, maybe it’s nothing. But I think it’s at least interesting to note Williams and Acker didn’t play either series. Both entered in the 3rd series.
2) As has probably already been noted, Reescano didn’t play on offense. I didn’t check ST. I don’t find that as a negative — Judkins, Bentley, Griffin should be fine as long as they stay healthy.
3) Jak Brown was in street clothes and a jersey. Anyone know if it’s injury related or if he’s a likely transfer casualty?
4) Yet again, no meaningful snaps from Bralon Brown. We even got him in interviews this year, but nothing early in-game. Cayden Lee was quick in the slot. Also, minimal JJ Henry that I saw.
5) During the 1st half, if Mercer was in 2 WR or less, Ced Johnson was a stand up LB — what amounted to a 5 DL front. Dropped in coverage some and had some man coverage. 2 actual LBs. 3 WR or more we ran what functioned like a 4-2-5 with one of our hybrid S/CB subbing in for an interior DL.
Not sure if this means the LBs are that bad and that we are using Ced as one, or if it was just a team-specific look. If it’s the former, then we are in for a long season defensively I think.
6) If Kyirin Heath plays all year like that after Prieskorn is “healthy,” Trigg is excess to requirements. He was really good, at least to this moron’s eye. Athletic, big, and fast. Good hands, at least yesterday.
7) Perkins looks the part, but if you watched the sub patterns he was taken out on passing situations unless they put him on the line to rush. He wasn’t trusted in pass pro at all.
