Oral Roberts is a pretty good team coming to Oxford this weekend, or at least not the trainwreck that has been a couple of the teams to this point. A different roster makeup to VCU but maybe a more complete team than the Rams. Oral Roberts will have an outside shot at a top 100 RPI. It finished 118 last year and took two of three from LSU in Baton Rouge, including a 22-7 win in the series opener.

The Golden Eagles are 9-3 this season with a couple good wins over Wright State, a win at South Alabama and a 1-1 record against Wichita State. They've won 8 of their last 9.

Oral Roberts is going right, left, right this weekend, and all three starters throw the ball in the strike zone -- a great thing for pace of play and my sanity. The three starters combined have 52 strikeouts and 10 walks.

Today's starter, Issac Coffey, was the Summit pitcher of the year a season ago with four complete games and a 92-13 K-BB ratio. He doesn't throw that hard but spins all sorts of stuff at hitters. Offensively they are pretty balanced for a team from that league and they have a lot of transfers. They'd been to NCAA Tournaments 19 of 22 times through 2019 but haven't been since 2018.
