Ole Miss finished tied for sixth in the league standings after being projected ninth in the preseason media poll. The Rebels have finished above their preseason projected finish each of the last five seasons since the league moved away from a divisional format. The Rebels have an overall record of 30-51 in 53 SEC Tournament appearances. The Rebels have reached five SEC championship contests and have a 2-3 record in those games, taking home tournament titles in 1981 and 2013. MOODY PICKS UP POSTSEASON HONORS
Senior G Stefan Moody was selected All-SEC first team by the league’s coaches for the second-straight season. Moody is the first Rebel to earn back-to-back first team All-SEC honors since Ansu Sesay (1997-98) and that marks the 15th All-SEC honor under head coach Andy Kennedy, which is the third-most in the league over the last 10 years behind Florida and Kentucky. Moody was also named to the USBWA All-District IV team.
MOODY WINS HOWELL TROPHY
Senior G Stefan Moody was named the 2016 C Spire Howell Trophy winner, presented by the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. The Howell Trophy, named for Bailey Howell, goes to the most outstanding men’s collegiate basketball player in Mississippi. It is the second-straight year Moody has been crowned the state’s top player and he is just the second two-time winner in the award’s history. Ole Miss has won the award each of the last four years, as Jarvis Summers took home the award in 2014 and Marshall Henderson won the honor in 2013.
MOODY’S CAREER NIGHT AGAINST THE BULLDOGS
Senior G Stefan Moody scored a career-high 43 points, including 24 in the first half, as Ole Miss knocked off Mississippi State 86-78 on Senior Night. Moody knocked down 11 of 24 shot from the field, including 6 of 12 from behind the arc, and hit 15 of 18 from the line. Moody added 6 assists and contributed to 17 of Ole Miss’ 25 total field goals in the game. It is tied for the highest single-game total in the SEC this year, the 11th highest in nation and the 13th highest in school history. It also marked the most points scored by a Rebel since Gerald Glass dropped 53 on LSU in 1989 and was the most in a league game since Kentucky’s Jodie Meeks scored 45 against Arkansas in 2009. If the Ole Miss doesn’t face MSU in the SEC Tournament, Moody ends his Rebel career with a 3-0 mark against the Bulldogs and averaged 28.3 ppg versus Mississippi State.
SAIZ, REBELS RULE OPENING NIGHT
Junior F Sebastian Saiz recorded his fifth double-double of the season and the seventh of his career with 21 points and 16 boards, as Ole Miss knocked off Alabama 74-66 in front of a sellout crowd of 9,500 at the grand opening of The Pavilion at Ole Miss. Senior G Stefan Moody also recorded his ninth-straight 20-point game with 21 points in the win, as the Rebels out scored the Tide 34-24 in the paint and erased an eight-point halftime deficit.

Brooks has posted 15 steals over the last 10 games and the Rebels have recorded 135 steals over their last 15 games.

In 10 seasons under Mississippi native Andy Kennedy, Ole Miss has a 212-125 record, one SEC Tournament championship, two SEC West championships, seven 20-win campaigns and seven postseason berths, which includes two NCAA Tournament appearances and pair of trips to the NIT Final Four. The all-time winningest coach in school history, Kennedy has averaged more than 21 wins per season in his nine full years in Oxford.
GIELO CONTINUES HOT STREAK
Senior F Tomasz Gielo entered the Rebels’ game at Missouri on Feb. 3averaging just 5.2 ppg and shooting only 21.8 percent from the field (12 of 55) over the previous seven games. Gielo broke out of his slump against the Tigers with 4 3-pointers and 16 points in the road victory and has continued his hot streak. He is averaging 14.1 ppg and shooting 49.4 percent (44 of 89) from the field and 43.3 percent (26 of 60) from 3 over his last 10 games. He scored 20 points and tied a career high with 8 rebounds in the Rebels’ road setback at Florida and posted 16 points and 7 boards in Ole Miss’ road win at Tennessee. Gielo is also averaging 6.0 boards a game over his last eight games.
MOODY LEADS THE SEC IN SCORING
Senior G Stan Moody scored a career-high 43 points vs. MSU and leads the SEC, and ranks sixth nationally, in scoring this season at 23.1 ppg. He had his 14-game, 20+ point scoring streak snapped at Kansas State, which is tied for the third-longest streak in school history. He has scored 20-plus points 21 times this season, eclipsed the 30-point mark four times and topped 40 once. He is the third highest power-conference scorer in the nation this season and holds a 19.6 ppg career scoring average, which ranks sixth in school history.

SAIZ SAYS DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Junior F Sebastian Saiz recorded his eighth double-double of the season against Tennessee with 23 points and 11 rebounds and now has 10 double-doubles in his career. Saiz recorded a double-double in back-to-back games for the second time this year after recording two straight against Alabama and Georgia (Jan. 7-9). He is tied for 6th in the SEC with eight double-doubles this year, despite missing six games, and is pulling down 8.9 rpg, which ranks fourth in the SEC.
MOODY JOINS 1,000-POINT CLUB
With 24 points against South Carolina, senior G Stan Moody became just the 37th player in Ole Miss history to reach the 1,000-point mark in his career. Moody reached the historic club in just 52 career games and is the tied with Cob Jarvis for the fifth-fastest Rebel to reach the 1,000-point plateau. The only players to reach 1,000 points faster in school history are Gerald Glass (37 games), Denver Brakeen (41 games), Don Kessinger (47 games) and Marshall Henderson (51 games). Head coach Andy Kennedy has now coached nine of Ole Miss’ 37 1,000-point scorers.
HYMON GROWING INTO POST ROLE
After being forced into the starting lineup after junior F Sebastian Saiz went down with an eye injury, sophomore F Marcanvis Hymon adapted to the role well. Hymon entered the South Carolina game averaging 4.9 points and 4.5 boards a game, and has posted 7.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg and is shooting 54.1 percent (40 of 74) from the field in the 13 games since Saiz’s injury. He recorded his second career double-double with 10 points and 11 boards against the Razorbacks.

SERIES HISTORY VS. ALABAMA
Thursday’s game will be the 176th meeting between the two schools. The Crimson Tide hold a 118-57 lead in the series, which began in 1921, but the Rebels have won seven of the last 10 against Alabama including an 74-66 victory in the lone meeting in Oxford earlier this year. The Tide lead the series 9-3 in neutral site games and claim a 4-2 lead in SEC Tournament meetings. Andy Kennedy has a 10-7 career record versus the Tide.

SCOUTING THE TIDE
The Crimson Tide ended the regular season with a 17-13 overall record and a 8-10 mark in SEC play after falling 70-63 at Georgia Saturday. Alabama has last four of its last five SEC games after winning five straight. Senior Retin Obasohan leads the Tide in scoring averaging 17.2 ppg and posted 20.6 ppg in conference play. Junior Shannon Hale is second on the team scoring at 11.2 ppg, while Dazon Ingram leads the squad in rebounding pulling down 5.9 per game. Moody is the first Rebel to earn back-to-back first team All-SEC honors since Ansu Sesay (1997-98) and that marks the 15th All-SEC honor under head coach Andy Kennedy, which is the third-most in the league over the last 10 years behind Florida and Kentucky. Moody was also named to the USBWA All-District IV team.
MOODY WINS HOWELL TROPHY
Senior G Stefan Moody was named the 2016 C Spire Howell Trophy winner, presented by the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. The Howell Trophy, named for Bailey Howell, goes to the most outstanding men’s collegiate basketball player in Mississippi. It is the second-straight year Moody has been crowned the state’s top player and he is just the second two-time winner in the award’s history. Ole Miss has won the award each of the last four years, as Jarvis Summers took home the award in 2014 and Marshall Henderson won the honor in 2013.
MOODY’S CAREER NIGHT AGAINST THE BULLDOGS
Senior G Stefan Moody scored a career-high 43 points, including 24 in the first half, as Ole Miss knocked off Mississippi State 86-78 on Senior Night. Moody knocked down 11 of 24 shot from the field, including 6 of 12 from behind the arc, and hit 15 of 18 from the line. Moody added 6 assists and contributed to 17 of Ole Miss’ 25 total field goals in the game. It is tied for the highest single-game total in the SEC this year, the 11th highest in nation and the 13th highest in school history. It also marked the most points scored by a Rebel since Gerald Glass dropped 53 on LSU in 1989 and was the most in a league game since Kentucky’s Jodie Meeks scored 45 against Arkansas in 2009. If the Ole Miss doesn’t face MSU in the SEC Tournament, Moody ends his Rebel career with a 3-0 mark against the Bulldogs and averaged 28.3 ppg versus Mississippi State.
SAIZ, REBELS RULE OPENING NIGHT
Junior F Sebastian Saiz recorded his fifth double-double of the season and the seventh of his career with 21 points and 16 boards, as Ole Miss knocked off Alabama 74-66 in front of a sellout crowd of 9,500 at the grand opening of The Pavilion at Ole Miss. Senior G Stefan Moody also recorded his ninth-straight 20-point game with 21 points in the win, as the Rebels out scored the Tide 34-24 in the paint and erased an eight-point halftime deficit.

Ole Miss has secured its 10th- consecutive winning season, all under head coach Andy Kennedy, and is one of just two teams in the SEC and 16 programs in the nation to have 10-straight winning seasons. Ole Miss leads the SEC in steals per game in conference play at 7.8 thefts per game. Junior G Rasheed Brooks ranks fourth in the league in steals in SEC games at 1.6/game, while senor G Stefan Moody is fourth in conference in all games averaging 1.5/game. Brooks has posted 15 steals over the last 10 games and the Rebels have recorded 135 steals over their last 15 games.

In 10 seasons under Mississippi native Andy Kennedy, Ole Miss has a 212-125 record, one SEC Tournament championship, two SEC West championships, seven 20-win campaigns and seven postseason berths, which includes two NCAA Tournament appearances and pair of trips to the NIT Final Four. The all-time winningest coach in school history, Kennedy has averaged more than 21 wins per season in his nine full years in Oxford.
GIELO CONTINUES HOT STREAK
Senior F Tomasz Gielo entered the Rebels’ game at Missouri on Feb. 3averaging just 5.2 ppg and shooting only 21.8 percent from the field (12 of 55) over the previous seven games. Gielo broke out of his slump against the Tigers with 4 3-pointers and 16 points in the road victory and has continued his hot streak. He is averaging 14.1 ppg and shooting 49.4 percent (44 of 89) from the field and 43.3 percent (26 of 60) from 3 over his last 10 games. He scored 20 points and tied a career high with 8 rebounds in the Rebels’ road setback at Florida and posted 16 points and 7 boards in Ole Miss’ road win at Tennessee. Gielo is also averaging 6.0 boards a game over his last eight games.
MOODY LEADS THE SEC IN SCORING
Senior G Stan Moody scored a career-high 43 points vs. MSU and leads the SEC, and ranks sixth nationally, in scoring this season at 23.1 ppg. He had his 14-game, 20+ point scoring streak snapped at Kansas State, which is tied for the third-longest streak in school history. He has scored 20-plus points 21 times this season, eclipsed the 30-point mark four times and topped 40 once. He is the third highest power-conference scorer in the nation this season and holds a 19.6 ppg career scoring average, which ranks sixth in school history.

SAIZ SAYS DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Junior F Sebastian Saiz recorded his eighth double-double of the season against Tennessee with 23 points and 11 rebounds and now has 10 double-doubles in his career. Saiz recorded a double-double in back-to-back games for the second time this year after recording two straight against Alabama and Georgia (Jan. 7-9). He is tied for 6th in the SEC with eight double-doubles this year, despite missing six games, and is pulling down 8.9 rpg, which ranks fourth in the SEC.
MOODY JOINS 1,000-POINT CLUB
With 24 points against South Carolina, senior G Stan Moody became just the 37th player in Ole Miss history to reach the 1,000-point mark in his career. Moody reached the historic club in just 52 career games and is the tied with Cob Jarvis for the fifth-fastest Rebel to reach the 1,000-point plateau. The only players to reach 1,000 points faster in school history are Gerald Glass (37 games), Denver Brakeen (41 games), Don Kessinger (47 games) and Marshall Henderson (51 games). Head coach Andy Kennedy has now coached nine of Ole Miss’ 37 1,000-point scorers.
HYMON GROWING INTO POST ROLE
After being forced into the starting lineup after junior F Sebastian Saiz went down with an eye injury, sophomore F Marcanvis Hymon adapted to the role well. Hymon entered the South Carolina game averaging 4.9 points and 4.5 boards a game, and has posted 7.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg and is shooting 54.1 percent (40 of 74) from the field in the 13 games since Saiz’s injury. He recorded his second career double-double with 10 points and 11 boards against the Razorbacks.

The all-time winningest coach in school history, Kennedy is 212-125 in 10 seasons in Oxford and holds a 233-138 record in 11 years as a head coach. SERIES HISTORY VS. ALABAMA
Thursday’s game will be the 176th meeting between the two schools. The Crimson Tide hold a 118-57 lead in the series, which began in 1921, but the Rebels have won seven of the last 10 against Alabama including an 74-66 victory in the lone meeting in Oxford earlier this year. The Tide lead the series 9-3 in neutral site games and claim a 4-2 lead in SEC Tournament meetings. Andy Kennedy has a 10-7 career record versus the Tide.
REBELS HITTING FREEBIES
Last year, Ole Miss ranked third in the nation hitting 77.3 percent of its free throw attempts and the Rebels have picked up with they left off hitting 71.5 percent this year, which ranks third in the league. Ole Miss hit 21 of 22 attempts from the line against the Razorbacks and hit 40 of 53 attempts against Georgia Southern earlier this season, which was the second-most attempts and makes in school history. Senior G Stefan Moody, who led the SEC and ranked seventh in the nation a year ago shooting 90.7 percent (149 of 165), ranks sixth in the league this season hitting 83.3 percent (205 of 246) of his attempts. His 205 free throw made this year ranks seventh in the nation. Moody ranks second all time in Ole Miss history with an 86.1 career free throw percentage (min. 200 attempts).
SCOUTING THE TIDE
The Crimson Tide ended the regular season with a 17-13 overall record and a 8-10 mark in SEC play after falling 70-63 at Georgia Saturday. Alabama has last four of its last five SEC games after winning five straight. Senior Retin Obasohan leads the Tide in scoring averaging 17.2 ppg and posted 20.6 ppg in conference play. Junior Shannon Hale is second on the team scoring at 11.2 ppg, while Dazon Ingram leads the squad in rebounding pulling down 5.9 per game. Alabama ranks last in the league in scoring at just 66.6 ppg, but are second in the conference giving up only 67.1 ppg.
