James Ford Seale, finally convicted of the segregation-era killings of two black teenagers some 40 years after the fact, died in a Terre Haute, Indiana federal prison on Tuesday morning at age 76. Seale, formerly a resident of Franklin co, Ms (Meadeville/Roxie), apparently beat and ultimately drowned two 19 year old Meadeville men with the help of several Klan members in May, 1964. He was convicted of kidnapping and given 3 life sentences in August, 2007.

The prosecution cut a deal with the devil so to speak.
Another man confessed to the killing and was given immunity by testifying that Seale helped him. Seale was convicted primarily on this guy's testimony.
The government deliberately let a killer go free....that isn't justice... that's symbolism over substance. A symbolic conviction !

....all for show !

The federal gov't's star witness definitely had problems and so did their case (kidnapping statute that Seale was prosecuted under did have a statute of limitations).

It was a horrible crime, but I'm not sure Seale really got a fair trial.
