Our standing in the world has taken a major slide since Trump has taken the White House.
Trump has pulled out of the Paris Climate Deal, advocated protectionist economic policies (something that hasn't been seen in the US since before World War I) and has sharply reversed energy policies back to more coal, oil, fossil fuels, etc....energy policies more in line with that of 1950 instead of 2017.
Meanwhile the Saudis have stepped up their investments and research into solar, wind and other GREEN energy projects. The Saudis, UAE, Dubai and other Middle Eastern countries are also stepping up efforts to outsource solar and wind power to Europe and sun-Saharan Africa.
So have the Chinese who are poised to be the 21st century's newest and emerging superpower...and keep in mind China is still a Communist nation but has cleverly adapted to the benefits of global capitalism to benefit and strength its government, citizens and military.
Communist Vietnam is doing the same.
You see other countries see where the future of energy is going because they're not being tricked misled, lied to by powerful fossil fuel interests.
But the more important motivation for them is the $$$$$$$$$$$$ financial reasons. Future empowerment potential for those nations. We're dropping the ball and not thinking about our long term energy potential-power.
Meanwhile our nation continues to turn inward and withdrawal from progression, evolution in energy. It's scary to think what this nation will look like 50-60 years from now.
We're bickering and fighting over worthless meaningless BS at the same time other emerging nations in the world are growing in power and influence.
This unfortunately happens over the course of world history.
