So I'm at the end of the OS upgrade capability with my 2012 iMac. It works great but Turbo Tax gave me a gentle warning that my OS won't work next year.
And the iMac OS cant upgrade any more.
So I'm checking out the 24" iMacs. They are nice but I saw the Apple Studio and got to thinking, its a much beefier machine and I need it for the 4K footage I shoot of my sons water polo matches.
I'm tire of using the wife's more recent iMac for editing.
I also use a work PC - Dell Latitude 15" 7520 that has Thunderbolts in/out. I use it as a desktop when I dont travel, especially last two years.
What if I found a Thunderbolt Monitor that I could plug the Apple Studio and the Dell into and switch back and forth?
And not over the top Boujee $$ like the Apple Studio Display.
I'm seeing a Dell monitor but the connector is USB 3.2 20 GB/s. Good but not the 40 GB/s T3 or 4 has. Both my dell and the Apple Studio could output in T3 or 4.
I really want the T3 or 4 for my eventual purchase of an 8K video camera, who's files will be massive.
So anybody have experience doing something similar?
Pros/Cons?
