Background: I'm hardcore against adults wearing jerseys at games. I feel like about 16 is the max age for that.
With that said, I didn't grow up with a ton of money and as a boy, always wanted jerseys, etc and didn't get much. I'm fine - I made it through that and had a great childhood, but it's one of the things that I kinda spoil my boys (12, 9, and 9) with. It's typically the souvenir we get when we travel somewhere and I've brought home a few soccer shirts when I've had to travel internationally for work. My oldest son has gotten pretty into it and has a decent collection of retro NBA jerseys and some cool old Man U shirts.
So, it's my birthday this week. And they couldn't wait to give me the present they picked out for me. They went to TJ Maxx with my wife and found a Mike Bibby retro Grizzlies jersey (we split season tickets with some buddies). They were willing to chip in and spend their own money on it.
I am very touched, but already dreading what I have to do.
I have to wear it to the Grizzly games - right?
