I'm hearing from multiple sources that Bryce Blaum is planning to transfer from Ole Miss, and Texas A&M is one possible destination. If that second part is accurate, or if he heads to any Division I school, he will have to sit out 2018.
Blaum had been expected by many to be Ole Miss' second baseman next season if Tate Blackman skips his final season of eligibility for professional baseball. I was incredibly high on Blaum when he got to campus, and I thought he played well in limited opportunities.
The Texas native appeared in 12 games with two starts and had three hits in nine at-bats.
If Blackman isn't the second baseman next season, the early favorite is incoming freshman Jupiter, Fla., native Anthony Servideo.
