Freeze's offense finally looks like it's supposed to. I'm not a huge X and O guy because I never played football at a high level, i just watch it a ton. But this is what Freeze's offense was supposed to look like when he got here.
Chad Kelly gives us the options Freeze's offense needs to be successful. Kelly is a film junkie which is showing in his decision making and the tempo we're running.
Freeze has package plays that require multiple options on the same play. We now have the option of the downfield pass on every single package play.
1. It takes at least one defender down field every time we run it with a real threat that we hit that guy.
2. Then we have the RB out of the backfield
3. The single coverage matchup Freeze looks for is also there.
For a young secondary(which Bama has) that's hard to cover. If Kelly can keep up his good decision making, those plays become lethal. It negates a pass rush because the decision is made fairly quickly.
I'm confident that Freeze and Co. will have plenty of variety to throw at Bama next week. If our Defense can force Coker into a mistake or two and at least keep Henry/Drake from running wild, it's going to be one hell of a game.
