Black Lives Matter Los Angeles’ co-founder Melina Abdullah has claimed that being a Taylor Swift fan is “racist” and that her boyfriend’s Super Bowl win was a “right-wing, white-supremacist conspiracy” in an unhinged social media rant.
Abdullah, 51, is a professor of Pan-African Studies at Cal State University Los Angeles.“Why do I feel like it’s slightly racist to be a Taylor Swift fan?” Abdullah wrote in a post on X on Super Bowl Sunday.
After the posts were uncovered and news outlets began to cover them, Abdullah tweeted that she was doubling down and used the hashtag “#TaylorSwiftHasSomeRacistFans.”
When the Kansas City Chiefs won, Abdullah wrote, “Why do I feel like this was some right-wing, white-supremacist conspiracy?!?! Booooooo!!!!”
