BASEBALL: Board of Aldermen approves Swayze expansion

The Oxford Board of Aldermen, tonight, approved Ole Miss' plan to add the plaza and premium seats to the stadium. The BOA last month asked Ole Miss to make revisions so that the city would have the option to expand Old Taylor Road in the future. Basically the two sides disagreed about sidewalks and retaining walls, in short to keep from boring you. On of the interesting things is one of the plans is an option to four lane Old Taylor Road. Another is to add a turn lane. There's a lot of scuttlebutt a welcome center and garage will be built at the corner of Old Taylor and University, necessitating these options.

Construction will begin following this season. A crane will be on-site from December or January until October 2025. Completion is spring 2026. You can see details at the link.
