I don't condone it happening in the locker room and quite frankly think it's stupid especially when the season is a month away. With that being said I played four years of high school football and walked on and played under both O and Nutt and I can't remember a season that boxing/slap boxing didn't happen in the locker room. No matter your opinion on it you're naive if you think this culture doesn't exist. During the year you spend countless hours sitting in the locker room in between meetings especially during fall camp. It's not crazy to imagine some horseplay breaks out. Coaches never knew it was going on. Their offices are a couple hundred yards away through several walls and doors. The ones to blame are the participants and your team leaders. At some point the team has to be responsible for their actions. If you want to be a 10+ win team you need to have better player leadership in the locker room. If the coaches have to put a chaperone in the locker room to make sure people behave this team has no shot. I don't think that's the case. I think this was just an unfortunate situation that got a little out of hand. I can guarantee you there will be no more shenanigans in the locker room after the ass chewing they received.
