Cal Bears Old man

Getting to the age where getting anywhere is getting tough but have to make the trip to Ole Miss this fall. Several years ago the wife and I went to Ole Miss for a Rebels/Bama game just to experience game day at Ole Miss and had a great time. Courtesy of a season ticket holder we met in the Grove, we had seats on the 50, about 15 rows up on the visiting teams side of the stadium (west?). Anyway after rambling on, here’s my question: I know that Cal seats will be in or near the end zone. We’re I to go to Stubhub or Vivid for seats, looking for 30 yard line or better, which side should I choose in order to be the least obtrusive to Ole Miss fans, ie is one side or the other considered premier by Ole Miss season ticket holders?

Hopefully, we will be in a good mood and in the lead. We're much happier that way;<) Personally I'd buy the best seats I could get and then look to trade for seats near your guys, either in the grove or near a gate. There's usually scalpers around with hands full of tickets. Did you try Cal as they get seats in the end zone where we put the visitors these days. I bot tix from Florida to a game play in Oxford because I knew they wouldn't travel well to Oxford. It was a sellout and my only way.

Thanks but I think I’ll risk the ire of Ole Miss fans and get better seats than whatever Cal will be selling. Cal students dont travel well so odds are what few Cal folks show up will be older folks like me and will be buying in the aftermarket along with me. Just wondered if among Ole Miss folks one side was preferred over the other.

I never liked the press box side due to some old alum yelling at me to sit down. When I had season tickets they were underneath the luxury seats opposite side of the press box. You were sheltered from the sun and rain.

There will be more visitors on the east side.......now, depending on game time.....those seats look into the sun.....the west side the sun is behind you......

Don’t worry about “ire” or being. “obtrusive”.......the overwhelming percentage of ole miss people will be pleasant and welcoming.....

This isn’t Baton Rouge..........

Glad you are making the trip......

The parking changed a few years ago.....maybe after you were here last......you need a pass to park on campus......you can usually get a single game on the ticket warehouses....

free shuttles are run from around town......the one from the square is pretty handy

A sep 21 game may be eve or night. Hell you can walk/stagger anywhere from town to campus unless you don't have 2 legs.

If the Rebs go down in the first two......unlikely they get a prime spot.....hello 11 kick.......we will see about that....

The gentleman mentioned his age.....he may not want to stagger anywhere.....he may not want to stagger at all

4 couples of us had a vrbo house rented for the OM game there till Ann Coulter's scheduled appearance drew violent protests so we cancelled rather than be endangered. No telling what they might conjure up, Glad we did as we lost and would have been fearful the whole time too.

Thanks for the advice, especially about parking. We’re both pretty good walkers but don’t want to be too far away so I’ll look into the parking pass. I’m trying to get a headcount from my gang. My daughter and my SIL and a couple of her sorority sisters and their spouses are going to the game and I’m the designated ticket guy.

You can park downtown and negotiate some kinda cab deal. They charge random numbers I think. DK what a parking pass runs either.

Bought a parking pass yesterday so we’re good to go.
Single game tix went on sale yesterday at Cal. Talked to my rep (I’m a Cal season ticket holder) and he said the demand for tickets for Ole Miss was much higher than expected. That doesn't mean we'll have A ton of folks at the game but it was encouraging.
