Can we have a logical discussion about Luke?

It seems both sides are entrenched on their side. One side clearly believes it's time for a change and one side clearly thinks that it's misdirected blame.

I get both sides, but I do want to preface by saying that one can think it's time for a change with Luke and still believe Freeze's playcalling leaves a lot to be desired. Those two ideologies aren't mutually exclusive.

My hope is that both sides stop the silly, passive-aggressive cynical approach and we can have a logical discussion about it. Because at this point, making the fans out to be lunatics who want accountability for the offensive line is equally as unfounded. How much time does a position coach get to field a competent unit and provide enough bodies where when 2-3 guys get hurt he gets a pass? Because this is four years running now.

Again, there's plenty of blame to go around. Freeze's playcalling is head-scratching. Our running back recruiting has been nothing short of underwhelming.

However, if you evaluate at an efficient rate like other programs, you don't have five to six lineman eating a roster spot who's biggest accomplishment in their career will be a pancake in the New Mexico State game.

Instead, those guys are at least able bodies who can perform at a rate that doesn't regress your unit that would compare to what cellar dweller teams have to offer.

I don't know what exactly the solution is. I do know that while other units have struggled at times, the offensive line unit has been one that has been the consistent topic over the last four years of what's vastly needed to improve to take us to the next level.
