Drivers in Oxford have not been schooled in roundabout procedures. Having lived in a west coast town where roundabouts were everywhere, it took a cop to explain it to me how they operate. 1. You never enter a roundabout if you chance making someone already in it to hit their brakes. 2. You signal just before you come to your exit, not before adding to any confusion. That allows someone wanting to enter know that you are exiting, thus speeding up the process. In my driving the roundabouts of Oxford, it's the wild wild west and I've never seen a signal.
