There is no worse industry with regards to customer service than the Commercial Airline industry. The situation that Jeffrey discussed on the Podcast today was an example of just how little regard the Airline companies have for their customers.

I fly commercial about 5 times a year, and can say with honesty that in about half of those flights there is some type of problem that occurs. A flight is canceled, a flight is delayed, luggage is lost etc....

About a month ago my recent fiasco revolved around our driving almost 5 hours to Memphis Tennessee so that we might have a direct flight on Southwest Airlines to our vacation destination. Of course Southwest cancelled our flight 15 minutes prior to boarding. We ended up taking a flight to Dallas Texas (Love Field). Our connecting flight to our final destination was delayed and we ended up arriving at our vacation destination a nice 12 hours later than we should have. And to top it all off, you guessed it, our luggage didn't make the trip. It was another 24 hours before our luggage arrived in our possession.

Like I said, I'm finding about a 50/50 success rate with commercial flight in which everything goes according to plan.
