There wasn't a ton to take from that game.

Mike didn't name a starter for Thursday. He talked to Derek for a long time after the game, and I asked if it was related to that, but he said no that he was telling him that he appreciated his leadership. He did throw a bullpen today, however.

Drew McDaniel was really good, locating his fastball to all quadrants and working in the breaking ball exceptionally well. He was confident. He had a positive mindset with it being Murray. He can really help if he can take that mindset to SEC play. That's been a struggle.

Tywone Malone and Dylan DeLucia were in shorts today and held out of action because they were late to the park. I have no idea if either would have played anyway, but that's the deal.

Max Cioffi threw for the first time of in a game since opening weekend last year. He's right at a year removed from Tommy John surgery. He located well. The fastball topped at 88 and was around 86-87. He told me he's around 90 percent back compared to last season.
