Was working on some portal stuff this morning in the office. To follow up from our Alabama conversation from yesterday's pod.
Since the Rose Bowl loss to Michigan, Alabama has lost:
-23 Total Scholarship Players
-3 5 Stars
-12 4 Stars
-8 3 Stars
Interesting stats
-Average Star ranking of guys leaving so far 3.78 (would rank 6th among classes signed in 2024)
-Lost more 5 stars than any college team signed in 2024
-I didn't go back and look at the "bonus" points rivals uses....but I think the guys they lost would be equal to a #2 overall recruiting class in 2024
***AND ITS NOT OVER***
Any way you look at it, that is difficult roster building situation in Tuscaloosa. I think they will be able to roll out 22 guys that are really good, but it's hard to imagine they won't have major depth issues coming into 2024, and depth is what wins in this league, much less adding a playoff where its possible to play 17 games in a season.
