All of you here are a lot better with Ole Miss football history than I am so I have to ask. We have at the very least 4 solid first round picks in next years draft. Alabama has one. That one is A'Shawn Robinson and the maybe's (more likely 2nd or 3rd rounders) are Kenyon Drake, Derrick Henry, and Cyrus Jones. I see some scouts are saying that Evan and Tee COULD go in the first round, moving us up to 6 taken with the first 32. When was the last time Ole Miss and Alabama had potential first round picks with Ole Miss clearly having more? I know in 2004 Eli was the first taken and Alabama had no one taken in the 1st round. The same happened in 2007 with Pat Willis.
What I am asking is that when both teams had considerable depth, when did we beat Alabama with first round talent selection by numbers? If this season and draft go well or exceed, would this finally put us over the talent gap hunt for the foreseeable future?
