I know there are some squirrelly rules about recruiting to attain the 85 limit and you get dinged when someone flunks out but how do they view transferring and going early draft? Also like in Collins case, he's graduated so do we get to add in this class? Got any ideas as to number of recruits we can take? Was 27 wasn't it?

I'm obviously not Ranch, and I don't have all the information you asked for, but I think by SEC ruling (also known as the Houston Nutt rule) no one can ink more than 28.

Thanks! Ranch is one of the few who is up on it or hears from high sources. I think there is some penalty when kids flunk out or the grad rate is below a certain number but no specifics. Collins for instance graduated but had a year of eligibility left. Wonder if we can sign a replacement to get to 85? Tunsil and Tread leave early so does that open for 2 and if 28 is max, what if 28 doesn't reach the 85. Seems we never know til signing day. Sure hope Mique comes for s visit with parents.

It opens up spots in the max 85 but doesn't change the number of kids we can sign in one particular class.

How does grey shirting figure into this?

Grey shirting is a joke, basically you are asking a kid to pay his own way for the first semester or year then he basically becomes a walkon that is given a scholarship and doesn't count against the SEC 28 for either year. He just takes a roster spot for one of the 85

That's what I thought.
