and what kind of program do you think your talking about? This was a good year for Ole Miss basketball considering we have poor support and small resources. Do you think Ole Miss should be considered in the same stratosphere of college basketball as Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina or UCLA? I hate to break it to some of you but prior to the mid 1990's there was no tradition in this program. It was considered a laughing stock-graveyard program. Veteran head coaches around the nation try to convince Rob Evans not to take this job because it was considered a head coach's graveyard. Weitleich took us to one tournament appearance in 1981. Prior to 1997 Ole Miss basketball had never won a NCAA tournament game. We had only been to one NCAA tournament. That's going back to the early-mid 20th century!

Evans and Barnes started the tradition of this program by taking us to 5 NCAA tournament appearances together from 1997-2002. We won some SEC west titles as well. Andy Kennedy has continued the winning tradition and given us 2 NCAA appearances, an SEC Tournament Championship and some SEC West titles as well. We're on the road to building this program up. Kennedy is stable and consistently produced multiple 20 win seasons something no other coach in the history of the program has done.

It would downright idiotic to run him off. For a smaller SEC school having a stable, successful coach is just what we need to continue to benefit from….
