That Smart wants Werner as oc. Dk if he likes sharing duties with Freeze or not and if his salary can be close but I know we took care if him when Orgeron was fired and he couldn't find a job. I don't know this, it's just speculation but I honestly think he likes it alot at Ole Miss. When he left Ole Miss he coached a North Delta academy, i private high school, just to stay in the area. He could have interviewed for real coaching jobs but chose to stay in north central mississippi. I don't think the lure of money would pull him.

Reading between the lines, losing his wife to cancer I think and as good as our community has been to him , I believe he loves Oxford . I imagine we could go worse.

Yeah that's what i'm saying. He had plenty of opportunity to leave if he wanted to but stayed to coach a high school team???

One thing Freeze did was hire assistants that have strong ties to Ole Miss. Of all the Assistants, Werner is the least likely to leave for alot of personal reasons. Really good guy and a pretty decent play caller

Warner never moved out of Oxford after orgeron was fired. His child needs special doc from what I understand and he kept his family in oxford while he went off to coach elsewhere. Anything can happen, but I think werner is settled here
