Plus when you add in what you've paid for Medicare during your lifetime (to date for me almost $100k), it isn't cheap. My estimated life expectancy is about 80. $100,000/15/yrs=$6667/12=$555/month plus, see link above. It's pretty expensive to me.
It seems single payer is the buzz word today. My reservations center on who controls the insurance and how to pay for it.
I consider health insurance a product, not a service like a doctor visit.
Percentage of salary, I'm not in favor of this approach.
Sales Tax. A person could decide how they spend their money.
Insurance pools crossing state lines.
